COVID at Conference

Dear LIASEA Colleagues,

We are coordinating our conference with respect to all the challenges that COVID-19 has brought to participating in large group events.

With this in mind, any member who is subject to a mandatory or precautionary order of quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19 by the State of New York, State or local department of health, or any governmental entity authorized to issue such an order, may be eligible to send a substitute representative from their district and/or agency.

Further, any member attending the conference, while indoors, will be required to always wear a mask. When outdoors, masks are not required. Participants are reminded, however, that social distancing remains an appropriate practice.

In order to accommodate the size of our group, effective social distancing will not be possible during our indoor seating/sessions. As a result, masks MUST be fully on at all times. We encourage all of you to continue to practice good hygiene and social distancing protocols to the fullest extent possible.

Breaks are at your pleasure and certainly available anytime you wish. We do ask you to keep others in mind, if you require a break, to minimize disruptions during presentations.

Our business dinner is arranged as a buffet so that members who wish to avoid any potential exposure, may take their dinner back to their rooms. Those who choose to enjoy their meal together in the dining room will be seated at tables that have some spacing, however, we cannot promise that the recommended 6-foot social distance will be available. The space for dining at Gurneys is limited and will not allow the distance to appropriately spread out. Therefore, dining together is at your own discretion. LIASEA and/or Gurney’s are not responsible for the actions of individuals. LIASEA is simply attempting to provide conference attendees with options to allow participants to dine within their comfort level.
